TIFF to PSD converter

Convert TIFF to PSD in your browser: your files are never uploaded, there is no limit on how many you convert, and the result is a flat Photoshop file in RGB. Drop in one TIFF or a whole batch and download the PSD files straight away.

    TIFF to PSD

Everything happens in your browser. Your files are not uploaded.

    How it works

    1. Choose your TIFF files

Drop them into the box, choose them on your device or paste with Ctrl+V.

    2. Converted automatically

Each file is converted to PSD straight away in your browser.

    3. Download

File by file, or everything at once as a ZIP file.

Opening a TIFF in the editor you use

Photoshop opens TIFF files, but other tools in a design workflow, such as templates, mockup generators and some compatible editors, work from PSD. Converting a TIFF to PSD hands the picture over in that format. Photopea, GIMP, Krita and Affinity Photo can open the result as well.

    What carries over

The converter reads the largest image in the TIFF and writes it as one flat layer in RGB, with an alpha channel if your TIFF has transparency. Layers, masks, annotations, extra pages and colour profiles are not carried over, even if the TIFF contained them. A layered TIFF from Photoshop is better opened in Photoshop itself.

    Practical notes

    • Size. Both formats are stored uncompressed here, so the PSD is about as large as the TIFF.
    • Cropping first. A scan with margins can be cleaned up with crop image before it goes into a PSD, and rotate image straightens a crooked page.
    • Other routes. If the template accepts PNG, TIFF to PNG is much smaller. From a JPG source, JPG to PSD does the same.

    Frequently asked questions

Are the layers of my TIFF kept?

No. The PSD has one flat layer holding the largest image of the TIFF.

    Is the transparency kept?

Yes, as an alpha channel, if your TIFF has one.

Why is the PSD as large as the TIFF?

Both store their pixels without compression, so their size follows the pixel count.

    Is my TIFF uploaded?

No. The PSD is made in your browser, so the TIFF never leaves your device. A TIFF can be tens of megabytes, so converting on your own device also saves the upload time. There is no limit on file size or number of files, apart from your device's memory.
