Example
How it works
-
Choose what you need
The number of paragraphs, elements or records, and which parts or fields go in.
-
Ready at once
The text or code appears immediately. Not happy with it? Click New variant for different content.
-
Copy or download
Copy with one click or save it as a file.
What can it include?
- Headings (h2, h3), to test your typography. The
<h1>title is always there. - Lists, and Bold, italic and links inside the paragraphs.
- Quote (
blockquote) and Table.
Number sets how many sections you get, from 1 to 50. With the default of 3 sections and the default options the code is 2,469 characters, about 300 words.
How the page is built
Every page starts with an <h1> and a first paragraph. Then each section adds a paragraph, and the options decide what else:
- Headings: an
<h2>above every section, and an extra<h3>and paragraph in every second one. - Lists: a bulleted list of 3 to 5 items in every second section, starting with the first.
- Bold, italic and links: in each paragraph the third word is bold, the seventh italic and the tenth a link.
- Quote: a
blockquoteafter every third section, starting with the second. - Table: one table of three columns in the first section.
Links point to #, so nothing in the preview goes anywhere. The text is the familiar lorem ipsum, generated from a seed: it stays the same while you change options, and New variant gives you different text.
Copy, download or preview
The preview shows the HTML the way a browser renders it, in a sandboxed frame, so you can judge the result without leaving the page. Copy puts the code on your clipboard, and Download .html saves it as a file. If the output needs tidying for a different indent, run it through the HTML formatter. For plain paragraphs, use the lorem ipsum generator; for structured test data, the JSON test data generator.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there always an h1 heading?
The generated page always starts with an `<h1>` title and an opening paragraph that begins with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet". *Headings (h2, h3)* only controls the headings further down. Untick it and you still have the `<h1>`, but no `<h2>` or `<h3>`.
How big is the table, and where does it appear?
The table has three columns: a header row and two rows of data, each cell one word. It is placed in the first section, once. Tick *Table* and raise *Number* above 1 to see it between other content.
Does the preview run scripts or load anything?
No. The preview is a sandboxed frame without script permission, and the generated HTML has no scripts, images or external files in it. Links point to `#`, so clicking one does nothing.
Can I use the output on a real page?
As placeholder, yes. Replace the text, give the links real addresses and add the images and classes your site needs. The generated tags carry no classes or styles of their own, so your stylesheet decides how they look.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The HTML is generated in your browser, and the preview is drawn there as well.
