    WebP to SVG

    Kind of SVG

Everything happens in your browser. Your files are not uploaded.

    How it works

    1. Choose your WebP files

Drop them into the box, choose them on your device or paste with Ctrl+V.

    2. Converted automatically

Each file is converted to SVG straight away in your browser.

    3. Download

File by file, or everything at once as a ZIP file.

    Exact or vectorised

You choose under Kind of SVG how the WebP is turned into an SVG:

    • Exact places the picture, as it is, inside an SVG file. Transparency is kept and it looks identical, but it is still pixels and the file is larger than the WebP.
    • Vectorise traces shapes of similar colour and draws them as vector paths. They stay sharp at any size and can be recoloured in Inkscape or Illustrator.

A logo you saved from the web

The most useful case is a logo or icon that you only have as WebP. Vectorising gives you a scalable version. Since WebP is often lossy, the edges of the original can carry faint noise, which the tracer tries to follow. Use the cleanest, largest version available, crop away empty space with crop image, and if there is a coloured background, remove it first with the background remover.

    Limits

Tracing suits flat colours and clear outlines. Photos and gradients become heavy, blotchy shapes. The tracer works on at most about one megapixel and reduces larger images first. If an SVG is not essential, consider WebP to PNG for a lossless copy instead.

For the other direction, SVG to WebP draws a vector as a small web image.

    Frequently asked questions

    Which option should I choose?

Vectorise for logos and icons you want to scale or recolour. Exact if you only need an SVG file that contains your picture.

Why does my traced logo have rough edges?

A lossy WebP carries faint noise around edges, which the tracer follows. Start from a cleaner or larger source if you can.

    Is the transparency kept?

With Exact, yes. With Vectorise it depends on the picture, so check the preview.

    Is my WebP uploaded?

No. The SVG is made in your browser, so the WebP never leaves your device. Images saved from the web stay as private as any other file on your device. There is no limit on file size or number of files, apart from your device's memory.
