WebP to JPG converter

Convert WebP to JPG in your browser: your files are never uploaded, there is no limit on how many you convert, and you choose the quality and the colour that replaces transparency. Drop in one WebP or a whole batch and download the JPG files straight away.

    WebP to JPG

    90

Lower makes the file smaller, higher keeps more detail.

JPG has no transparency; see-through areas get this colour.

Everything happens in your browser. Your files are not uploaded.

    How it works

    1. Choose your WebP files

Drop them into the box, choose them on your device or paste with Ctrl+V.

    2. Converted automatically

Each file is converted to JPG straight away in your browser.

    3. Download

File by file, or everything at once as a ZIP file.

The fix when a site says "unsupported file type"

An image saved from a website is increasingly a WebP, and plenty of upload forms, email programs, print services and older apps still accept only JPG. This is the page for that case: drop in the WebP and get a JPG that works everywhere.

    Transparency becomes a colour

A JPG has no transparency. If your WebP has a transparent background, it is filled with the colour under Background, white by default. Set it to match where you will put the picture. Most WebP photos are not transparent, so this only matters for logos and cut-outs; for those, WebP to PNG keeps the transparency.

    Quality

The slider starts at 90. Since the WebP is already lossy, a second lossy step adds a small amount of loss. At 90 or higher you will hardly notice, so use a high setting when the picture matters, and avoid converting back and forth repeatedly. The JPG is usually a little bigger than the WebP it came from. Check the size summary under each file.

    Tips

    • Large pictures. Many forms have a size limit. If the JPG is too big, make it smaller with shrink image or lower the quality.
    • Several files. Drop them all in and download one ZIP.
    • The other direction. To make web images smaller, JPG to WebP does the opposite.

    Frequently asked questions

Why does a site reject my WebP?

WebP is newer than JPG, and many forms, apps and print services only accept JPG, PNG or PDF. A JPG works almost everywhere.

Is the JPG bigger than the WebP?

Usually, yes. WebP compresses more efficiently, so at the same quality a JPG is larger.

What happens to a transparent background?

It is replaced by the background colour you choose in the settings. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead.

    Is my WebP uploaded?

No. The JPG is made in your browser, so the WebP never leaves your device. Images saved from the web stay as private as any other file on your device. There is no limit on file size or number of files, apart from your device's memory.
