What it does
THIS IS A SENTENCE. AND THIS IS ANOTHER ONE! is that right? ice cream is nice. becomes This is a sentence. And this is another one! Is that right? Ice cream is nice.
A capital is placed at the start of the text, at the start of each paragraph and after a full stop, exclamation mark, question mark or ellipsis. Tick Every line starts with a capital if each line is its own sentence, such as in a list.
Names and "I"
The tool lowercases everything first, so proper nouns, acronyms and the pronoun "I" become lowercase as well (london, nasa, i). Check the result for those and correct them by hand.
Quotes and abbreviations
A quotation mark or bracket in front of a sentence is skipped: "quoted start" he said. becomes "Quoted start" he said. Abbreviations are the weak spot. After e.g. the file the word the gets a capital, because the full stop looks like the end of a sentence. Scan for e.g., i.e. and etc. after converting.

Frequently asked questions
Why did it capitalise the word after "e.g."?
Because the tool starts a new sentence after a full stop followed by a space. It cannot tell an abbreviation from the end of a sentence, so correct `e.g.` and `i.e.` by hand afterwards.
What happens with the pronoun I and names?
The text is lowercased first, so names such as London and the pronoun "i" lose their capital, except where a sentence starts. `i think so... maybe?` becomes `I think so... Maybe?`, but a mid-sentence "i" stays lowercase.
How do I treat each line as a sentence?
Tick *Every line starts with a capital*. A list of items such as `FIRST LINE` and `SECOND LINE` becomes `First line` and `Second line`.
Are decimals like 3.5 affected?
No. A capital is only added after a full stop, exclamation mark or question mark that is followed by a space, so `3.5 euro` stays as it is.
