Reverse text

Flip a text backwards: Hello 😀 café becomes éfac 😀 olleH. Reverse the whole text or each line on its own. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Reverse

How it works

  1. Paste your text

Type or paste the text in the left box, or open a .txt file. No text to hand? Click Example.

  2. Instant result

The result appears as you type. Change the options and see straight away what changes.

  3. Copy or download

Copy the result with one click, save it as a file or use it as input for a next step.

Two scopes

  • Whole text: every character in reverse order, including the line order.
  • Each line separately: one two and three four become owt eno and ruof eerht, with the lines in their original place.

Handled with care

Letters with accents, combined emoji and characters outside the Latin alphabet are treated as one unit each, so they do not fall apart when reversed.

Uses

  • Playing with palindromes and word puzzles.
  • Making secret notes that are readable only after reversing them again.
  • Testing how a layout or database handles right-to-left or odd input.

For the words instead of the letters, use reverse words; for the order of lines, reverse lines. Reverse text can be combined with capitalize last letter for a puzzle.

Frequently asked questions

Are emoji and accents handled correctly?

Yes. The text is reversed per visible character, so `café` becomes `éfac` with the accent on its letter, and an emoji such as 👍🏽 stays one piece instead of breaking into parts.

What is the difference between reversing the text and each line?

*Whole text* reverses everything, so the last line comes first and is itself backwards. *Each line separately* keeps the lines in order and reverses only the letters inside every line.

Is this the same as mirror writing?

No. It reverses the order of the characters but does not flip the shapes of the letters. For a mirror image you need a font or an image editor.

Does it work for a palindrome check?

Yes. A text is a palindrome if the reversed version equals the original, ignoring spaces and punctuation, as in `Was it a car or a cat I saw`.
